Originally, we were just planning to release the records...
 
Then we started digging through old photos. Friends started sharing stories. Kyle's family opened up their archives. Before long, it became clear that we weren't just preserving music anymore. We were preserving a small piece of Colorado music history.
 
Inside this collector's edition box set you'll find both vinyl releases from the project: Postal Holiday, the companion 7-inch featuring Cloud 9 and Street Light Paradigm, and Collected Works: Kyle McQueen, an eleven-song LP spanning two of Kyle's most beloved bands, Spacesuits for Indians and Flowers of Mass Production. Together, they capture multiple chapters of Kyle's musical life and offer the most complete collection of his music ever released on vinyl.
 
We also wanted to include the things that simply don't fit on a record. The result is an exclusive 8-page, 12" × 12" booklet filled with photographs, essays, memories, and other never-before-seen pieces of Kyle's story. It's not meant to be a biography or a coffee table book. Think of it instead as a glimpse into the creative life of someone whose impact on Colorado's music community was far greater than most people ever realized. 
 
To make the collection even more special, Denver artist—and longtime friend and creative partner of Kyle's—Julio Alejandro has agreed to paint every box by hand. That means no two box sets will ever be exactly alike. Each one is an original work of art in its own right. Because every box is painted individually, we'll only produce enough to fulfill preorders. Once the preorder window closes, production ends. After that, the only way to own one will be to find it from another collector.
 
Like so many independent recordings, Kyle's music was never guaranteed to survive. Much of it existed only on aging hard drives, burned CDs, and forgotten websites. With support from a generous INSITE Fund grant, Unit E Records was able to remaster these recordings and preserve them on vinyl before they disappeared forever.
 
Every city has artists who help define its creative culture without ever becoming famous outside of it. We believe those artists deserve to be remembered. Their songs deserve to be preserved. Their stories deserve to be told.
